Justine arrived at her boudoir and nude photo session with a bold vision and some very unique props. Like most clients, she was nervous at first. She had planned, though, bringing along slinky lingerie, platform heels, and a collection of personal items that told her story: DJ headphones, LP covers, shimmering crystals, and a giant disco ball.
In our planning session, Justine shared her prop ideas for her DJ boyfriend’s gift and her crystals.
She arrived for her session, like our clients usually do, excited and nervous.
From the moment she settled into our makeup chair, her nerves started to ease. Our talented makeup artist creates unique looks tailored to each client’s style—anything from natural elegance to exotic glamour. She has a talent for calming clients, even those with fluttery nerves.

We started with the satin bedroom set, incorporating her crystals and disco ball for a funky, fashion-inspired vibe in the first few. She was so excited about her props.
The elegant poses paired with the playful props created sensual and striking images. Her confidence was visibly increasing. She was getting bolder in her choices. Offering ideas and suggestions. She was surprised how comfortable she felt. It was, she explained, very freeing, a bit intoxicating!
Each session is as unique as the women we photograph. There’s no set flow—from fully clothed to lingerie to nude—or fixed order of poses. Instead, I let intuition and spontaneity guide the experience, tailoring each moment to the client’s mood. Sessions typically last two to four hours and include multiple sets. I continuously adjust the lighting and atmosphere to capture a variety of moods and styles.
For Justine’s two-set session, we moved from the bedroom to an abstract background that was incredibly versatile. It complemented her spiritual crystals, DJ props, and even the cheeky hockey theme. Adjusting the disco ball’s height was tricky, but the light patterns it cast made the effort worth it. Adding our mirrored floor took the visuals to another level—flashy yet simple, just as she wanted.
Like all our clients, once their confidence starts to grow, they begin to share some novel ideas. Unplanned poses. There is a growing sense of power, of creativity. We are partners in creating images. This makes each session so personal for our clients.
The disco ball cast mesmerizing patterns giving her photos a unique, almost ethereal quality—a perfect match for the feel of the crystals. I have a rare studio light that can mimic sunset; the warm reflections create lightning-like highlights.

When we transitioned to the DJ theme, Justine had been looking forward to this. Out went the crystals, and in came the headphones and LP covers. She knew the poses and looks her boyfriend loved. We spread the album covers out and got creative.
We wrapped up with her hockey-inspired images. Justine brought a jersey and was thrilled we had a matching flag to complete the look. Her enthusiasm throughout the session made capturing her bold, multifaceted spirit a joy.
